| Chris Clark, AKA Cliff Martellini, got his radio career going while still in high school. He began by making cassette recordings for friends using a mixing board and two turntables. Cliff would record it as if it were an actual broadcast and customize them with the person initials using them as a fake station ID. That, believe it or not, struck it big with his closest friends. After high school Cliff joined the Army as Broadcaster, working in both TV and radio. Cliff is still in the Army but, part-time as an Army Reservist. He still does TV and radio in the Army. He landed his first of three commercial radio jobs at WNBP AM1450 in Newburyport, MA. There he started at only one shift a week, Saturday nights. Later it turned into his full-time job, picking up the weeknight shift working 6PM to Midnight and Saturday afternoons. Cliff worked here while going to college, playing student by day and radio personality by night. His second gig found him at a much more powerful station, WOKQ 97.5FM in Dover, NH, working Sunday nights and fill-ins. Coming from AM to FM was a big step for Cliff. It meant more than anything else, more listeners and more exposure. Cliff's third and present resting home is The Shark. He started out working full-time evenings and weekends. At one time Cliff could be heard each night from 8PM to 2AM cranking out the best classic rock on the seacoast. Currently, Cliff has scaled it back. You can hear him at his current shift Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6AM and Noon. | ![]() |
